Come, let me clutch thee. |
Much more interesting, though, were the live ice-pictures being created at the edge of the stream by air entering below the layer of ice. They were just mesmerising:
Setting up home in a new country is going to be challenging. A bit like trying to cook a meal in someone else's kitchen. Maybe. This is a record of my experiences as I pack up my old life in England and start a new one in Ontario, Canada, with the aim of becoming more self-sufficient.
Come, let me clutch thee. |

Amazing clip of the ice forming. How much was it speeded up?
Hi Carolyn - that's live, as it was happening. It was beautiful, watching the air making those patterns under the ice - the sort of thing that you are very lucky to catch. Glad I was there!
What a fascinating and wonderful clip.
I took my fair share of ice photos the past few days, but that's because we got an ice storm. I was inspired by your photos to look around for how the ice coated things in odd ways. I think the ice on chicken wire is my favorite. You can see it here
Well, it was so amazing - I can't believe it forms in front of your eyes like that!
Emily, your photos are beautiful - I especially like the chicken wire and dogwood ones!
